Guild members! This spring KANG will be hosting our first ever Mystery Knit-A-Long. This will be a completely blind MKAL (no peeking!!), meaning you won’t know what you’re making until you are making it. Just a tiny hint? Jane Richmond is thrilled we’ve chosen one of her designs. I’m not telling which one though ;)

This is a comfortable beginner pattern. If you are a beginner you will learn some new skills and if you’re an old hat…don’t worry it’s interesting enough to (hopefully) keep you coming back for more. We’ll begin with Clue #1 posted to the website on April 1st in the members only section of the website. The clue release schedule will proceed with a new clue every Saturday as follows:

Clue #1: April 1
Clue #2: April 8
Clue #3: April 15
Clue #4: April 22

Please make sure you are a member before you purchase the MKAL! You won’t be able to reach your clues otherwise :) The pattern is electronic ONLY and will be delivered through Ravelry. 

Purchase? Yes! The MKAL is $8.00 to participate. This will cover the purchase of your pattern, and all proceeds will be added to our Charity Budget for this fiscal year. You can have fun, make friends, and be generous all at once! The event will be open on the store Wednesday, March 1st through Wednesday, March 29th.

What about the yarn? This pattern is a one skein wonder! All you need is a single skein of worsted weight yarn of your choosing. When you register for the MKAL you’ll get an email including the gauge, size needles, and total yardage used in the sample knit to get you ready for cast on and the 1st clue; you’ll also receive an MKAL password to unlock the clues. 

When the final clue is released you will receive an email containing a personalized Ravelry code and instructions to download your purchased e-copy of the pattern into your Ravelry library. 

Need help? Have specific questions or just want to chat or post progress pics? Head over to the MKAL thread on Ravelry or to the Facebook event page! I’ll get back to any questions you have as soon as possible. 

At the close of the MKAL there will be an FO thread on the guild’s Ravelry group page to post FO picture. Make sure you post your FOs here for your entry into the prize pool! The thread will open April 22nd along with the release of your final clue and will remain open until May 5th. Made 2 or 3 of them? Post a pic per FO for bonus entries into the pool. Winners will be announced here on the website Saturday, May 6th.
